11 August 2022

On Wednesday, Syrian army fighters repulsed an attack by terrorists from the Jabhat al-Nusra group (banned in Russia) in the east of Idlib province. The SANA news agency reported that a gang of about 25 foreign mercenaries tried to pass from the Al-Nayrab district to the Jubas settlement, where the government forces' camp is located.

"Syrian troops fought the terrorists and inflicted losses," the agency points out. - "The enemy retreated and did not try to attack again."

SANA notes that armed attacks by militants have increased markedly in northwestern Syria. On August 8, three terrorists were killed on the line of contact between Syrian troops and Turkish-backed opposition militias.

On July 26, Syrian army artillery in response to enemy provocations hit pro-Turkish positions in the Deir Semaan area and around the border town of Azaz, as well as in the Jabal al Akrad and Kabani mountain areas.
