Tajikistan and Turkey Forge Closer Ties in State Finance Management

Tajik Finance Minister Qahhorzoda Faiziddin  and Turkish Treasury and Finance Minister Mehmet Simsek signed a memorandum of understanding  between the two agencies, the press service reported.

 

"This normative act will contribute to further expansion of cooperation between the Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Tajikistan and the Ministry of Treasury and Finance of the Republic of Turkey in the field of improving the efficiency of public finance management," the statement reads.

 

The ministry added that the document was signed during the working visit of Tajikistan's Minister of Finance to Ankara.

 

During the meeting, Simsek highlighted the scope of collaboration, stating, "Our discussions covered crucial areas such as the implementation of reforms in the system of public finance management. This includes initiatives in education and health sectors, carried out in conjunction with the World Health Organization and the World Bank."

 

The talks also encompassed the digitalization of public services, the advancement of non-cash settlements, and the development of the state system of electronic payments.

 

Diplomatic relations between Tajikistan and Turkey were established in 1992, leading to the signing of over 70 bilateral agreements and various cooperation documents. Currently, more than 30 draft documents are under consideration. The trade turnover between the two nations exceeded $351 million in 2022.
