Tajikistan Expresses Interest in Regional Cooperation with Russia

Tajikistan has expressed keen interest in intensifying collaboration with Russia at the regional level, emphasizing the significance of establishing joint ventures. This information was conveyed by the press service of the Tajik president, reporting on the meeting between President Emomali Rahmon and Governor of the Sverdlovsk region Evgeny Kuivashev.

 

"During the conversation, the leader of the nation [Emomali Rahmon], emphasized Tajikistan's keen interest in the ongoing expansion of relations between the two countries, including regional cooperation as a significant component. In this context, the head of state highlighted that currently, more than 80 subjects of the Russian Federation have direct ties with Tajikistan," as per the report.

 

Rahmon emphasized the significance of the Sverdlovsk region as a key partner for Tajikistan in Russia. He expressed the Tajik side's openness to considering proposals from the head of the Sverdlovsk region for mutually beneficial cooperation across various areas of common interest. The president highlighted the importance of expanding investment cooperation and fostering collaboration in the establishment of joint ventures.

 

During discussions with the head of the Russian region, Rahmon addressed topics such as the labor activities of Tajik citizens in Russia and explored promising areas of cooperation, including energy, pharmaceuticals, and tourism.

 

Furthermore, a business forum between the Sverdlovsk region and Tajikistan is scheduled to take place in Dushanbe on November 28.
