Tajikistan Ready to Collaborate with Iran Regarding Shah Cheragh Mausoleum Terrorist Attack

Tajikistan has not yet received official inquiries from Iran regarding the terrorist attack at the Shah Cheragh mausoleum, which involved a Tajikistani citizen. However, Tajik Foreign Minister Sirojiddin Mukhriddin stated that his country is prepared to cooperate. He assured that this incident will not adversely affect the bilateral relations between the two nations.

 

"We have not yet received any official documents on this case from Iran. We strongly condemn the terrorist attack at Shah Cheragh. If Iran makes an official request, we will certainly collaborate with the appropriate authorities to ascertain the details," the minister stated during a press conference.

 

Mukhriddin extended condolences over the tragic event and reiterated that "a terrorist, regardless of their location, remains a criminal." He emphasized Tajikistan's readiness to work alongside their friendly partner Iran to address this issue, reaffirming that the incident will not impact the overall relationship between the two countries.

 

On August 13, a terrorist attack occurred at the Shah Cheragh mausoleum in Shiraz, Fars Province, Iran. According to reports, two militants attempted to enter the mosque, with one of them opening fire inside. Security forces apprehended the attacker shortly thereafter. The incident resulted in one fatality and eight injuries. Iranian authorities later disclosed that the perpetrator was a Tajikistani citizen.
