Russia remains one of Tajikistan's main strategic partners, said Rustam Emomali, chairman of the National Council of the Supreme Assembly of the republic.

"Tajikistan attaches great importance to the development of multifaceted interaction with Russia. It is reflected that Tajikistan-Russia relations of friendship and cooperation are developing dynamically in all aspects. The Russian Federation today is one of Tajikistan's main strategic partners and a reliable ally," Emomali said during a meeting with Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin.

He said he was glad for the opportunity to exchange views on topical issues of bilateral relations.

According to Emomali, inter-parliamentary ties are an important link in the whole complex of interaction between Russia and Tajikistan. "In this context, I would like to note with satisfaction the consistent reaching of inter-parliamentary relations to a qualitatively new high level. Constant contacts have been established at the level of the parliaments of the two countries. We also closely cooperate on multilateral basis within the frameworks of the CIS Interparliamentary Assembly and CSTO," he said.

Emomali noted that the parliaments continue to make their worthy contribution to strengthening the strategic partnership of the two countries. "Our meeting takes place on your birthday. This pleasant event gives me the opportunity to heartily congratulate you and wish you good health, long life, happiness and new achievements in your state activities for the stability and prosperity of great Russia," Emomali said.
