12 April 2019

The radical Taliban movement (banned in the Russian Federation) temporarily excluded from the UN terrorist lists 11 representatives. According to the Special Representative of the Russian President for Afghanistan, Zamir Kabulov, that was done in order to simplify the negotiation process on the Afghan settlement.

«This is a temporary measure for 9 months. And then we’ll see», he pointed out, in particular.

Mullah Ghani Baradar, the Deputy leader of the Taliban and the head of the Political Office of the Qatar group in Qatar, are among those deduced from the lists of UN terrorists.

Earlier, it was reported that Moscow and Washington are exploring options for providing Taliban negotiators with opportunities to travel to events dedicated to the Afghan settlement.
