The Taliban (banned in the Russian Federation) that seized power in Afghanistan have fulfilled all the conditions for recognizing the legitimacy of the provisional government formed by them, Taliban Cabinet Chairman Mohammad Hassan Akhund said on Wednesday during an economic conference in Kabul.
"The Islamic Emirate [of Afghanistan] (the name of the state used by the Taliban - TASS) has fulfilled all the conditions sufficient for [recognition of] the system's legitimacy," Akhund said, quoted by Deputy Minister of Information and Culture in the Taliban government Zabihullah Mujahid on his Twitter page.
Akhund also called on countries around the world to recognize the radical government formed by the radicals and support the Afghan people.
The Taliban launched a massive operation to take control of Afghanistan after the US announced last spring its decision to withdraw its military forces from the country. On August 15, 2021, the Taliban entered Kabul without a fight and President Ashraf Ghani fled the country. On September 6, the Taliban claimed control of all Afghan territory and on September 7 announced the composition of the provisional government, whose legitimacy has not yet been recognized by any country.
