The radical Taliban (banned in the Russian Federation), which has seized power in Afghanistan, will not allow Pakistan to unilaterally build fences on the border along the Durand Line, which is not recognized by Kabul. This was reported by Zee TV on Wednesday, citing the Defense Ministry of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan (the Taliban use the name of the state).

"The Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan will not permit Pakistan to continue building unilateral engineering barriers on the border between the two countries. The barrier runs along the Durand Line, which is not recognized by the Afghans. In the course of governmental consultations, a decision will be made on further steps to respond to Pakistan," the channel quoted Muhammad Yaqub Mujahid, the appointed defense minister in the Taliban's interim government, as saying. - "We will act in accordance with any directives given to us by the leadership".

Earlier, Pakistani Interior Minister Sheikh Rashid Ahmad said the fencing on the border with Afghanistan was more than 90 percent complete.

Pakistan began engineering the 2,611-kilometer border with Afghanistan in 2017 to prevent terrorism and infiltration by radical Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan militants. Fences and 388 firing points for border guards have been built along more than 800 kilometers of the border.
