Rustam Minnikhanov, the Head of Tatarstan, has issued a decree to establish the Republican Organizing Committee responsible for planning and executing events in connection with Russia's chairmanship of BRICS in 2024. The details of this decree have been published on the official website of the Tatarstan head.

"To establish a republican organizing committee for the preparation and execution of events within the scope of Russia's presidency in the BRICS association in 2024," the document states.

Minnikhanov was appointed as the Chairman of the Republican Organizing Committee, while his deputies include Tatarstan's Prime Minister Alexei Pesoshin, Head of the Administration of the Head of Tatarstan Asgat Safarov, and Mayor of Kazan Ilsur Metshin.

The Republic's Cabinet of Ministers has been tasked with establishing an operational team and specialized working groups to oversee various aspects of the preparation and execution of these events.

In April, Russian President Vladimir Putin officially selected Kazan as the host city for the BRICS Heads of State Meeting scheduled for 2024.
