Tatneft and Kazakhstan's Allur began producing tires at a plant in Kazakhstan, the press service of Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov told reporters.
"Today, the first tire rolled off the assembly line at the KamaTyresKz car tire production facility in the Karaganda region. The release of the first products of the joint venture of Tatneft and the Kazakh company Allur took place in the city of Saran," said the press service of Minnikhanov, who is on a working visit to Kazakhstan.
The construction of the plant was launched in April 2021 and the plant will reach its full capacity in 2024. The total investment in the project amounted to 171 billion tenge (about $360 million).
Capacity of the plant is 3 million car tires and 500 thousand all-metal cord truck tires with diameter from 13 to 24 inches. The second stage will include production of rubber products, and the third - tires for agricultural machinery. As it was noted in the press service, this is the first modern plant in Kazakhstan for the production of tires, previously similar products were imported.
Kazakhstan is one of Tatarstan's leading foreign partners, Minnikhanov said. "We are glad that our cooperation is only expanding every year. The launch of this modern production facility demonstrates that we have the most serious intentions to expand cooperation," the press service quotes him as saying.
