Tehran rejected the IAEA resolution and take appropriate action in response

Tehran completely rejects the resolution adopted by the Board of Governors of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) regarding the Iranian nuclear program and will take retaliatory actions, the permanent representative of Iran to the international organizations in Vienna, Kazem Garib Abadi stated on Friday.

"Iran completely rejects this resolution and will take appropriate measures as a response," the ISNA news agency quoted him as saying. Garib Abadi added that "those who make this decision will be held responsible for the consequences."

According to him, the resolution was adopted "on the basis of false and baseless accusations". "This is a completely unconstructive and political step that pushes to an unnecessary crisis of cooperation [between Tehran and the IAEA]," a representative of Tehran said.

The IAEA Board adopted on Friday a draft resolution of "Euro-troika" (Great Britain, France, Germany) with a requirement for Iran to grant access to two facilities. The Agency suspects possible storage of undeclared nuclear material by the Iranian side.

Garib Abadi previously explained that this topic refers to the assumptions of 17 years ago and was closed at the Boards of Governors of the IAEA in 2015. During technical briefings, it was also pointed out that these objects were a farm and a desert. In addition, Iran does not intend to grant automatic access to these facilities on the basis of unfounded accusations by its opponents.
