Eight Pakistani Army servicemen were killed in a terrorist attack on a military garrison in the Bannu district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, a northwestern province bordering Afghanistan. Reuters reported the incident, citing the Ministry of Defense.
On July 15, a suicide bomber driving a car bomb, accompanied by a group of armed extremists, infiltrated the military location. The explosion from the vehicle destroyed barracks and nearby civilian homes, resulting in injuries to eight civilians. In the ensuing battle, eight soldiers were killed, and 12 others were wounded.
An anti-terrorist operation is ongoing at the scene as security forces work to secure the area and eliminate any remaining threats.
