The 14th round of talks on Syria starts in Nur-Sultan

All the declared delegations have arrived for the 14th round of talks on Syria, which starts today in Nur Sultan, Official Representative the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan Aibek Madiyarov announced.


According to him, "bilateral and trilateral consultations start soon, the venues are being discussed".


The delegation of the Syrian opposition consists of 12 people; it is headed by Ahmad Toma.


The next round of talks on Syria in Astana format will be held in Nur Sultan today and tomorrow.


The delegations of the guarantor countries - Iran, Russia and Turkey - as well as the Syrian government and the Syrian armed opposition are expected to participate. High representatives of Jordan, Lebanon and Iraq, as well as the UN delegation led by the UN Special Envoy for Syria Geir Pedersen will participate as observers.
