The Arab League rejected the "deal of the century"

03 February 2020

During an emergency meeting of the Foreign Ministers of the Arab League, the member countries opposed the American plan for a Palestinian-Israeli settlement.

As noted in the final statement, the so-called "deal of the century" would not lead to a just peace agreement.

It is also stated that the Arab League will not cooperate with the United States, and Israel should not implement the plan by force.
This decision, as stated by Secretary-General of the Arab League Ahmed Aboul Gheit, was made by all Arab States.

"We will seek support from the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, the African Union and the Non-Aligned Movement," he said.
Today, by the way, an extraordinary meeting of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation will be held to discuss the "deal of the century".

US President Donald Trump announced the details of the "deal of the century" on January 28. According to the document, Jerusalem is recognized as the unified and indivisible capital of Israel, and Palestine becomes a fully independent, but demilitarized state, virtually devoid of control over its borders.

As the future capital of Palestine, the plan proposes the village of Abu Dis in the Eastern suburbs of Jerusalem, located behind a security fence.
