The bodies of two more victims were found in the rubble in Beirut

The bodies of two dead were found by EMERCOM rescuers of Russia on the site of the rubble in Beirut after the explosion at the port, the Ministry reports.


"Tonight, rescuers of the Russian Ministry of Emergency situations found two dead bodies at the site of the rubble in Beirut," the report said.

 

 

A powerful explosion occurred near the port of Beirut on August 4. Hundreds of houses and cars were destroyed and damaged, and some buildings were completely destroyed. According to the authorities, the cause was the detonation of 2,750 tons of ammonium nitrate, confiscated by customs in 2014 and stored in a warehouse. The capital of Lebanon is recognized as a disaster area, and a state of emergency has been declared in the city for two weeks. As of Tuesday, the number of victims of the explosion increased to 171, with 30 to 40 people still missing.
