The opening ceremony of the Cross Year of Culture of Russia and Turkey was held on the historical stage of the Bolshoy Theatre the premier of the Gala Performance «Troy». The Minister of Culture of the Russian Federation Vladimir Medinsky took part in the event.
Speaking to the audience, he stressed that each event within the framework of the Year of Culture is aimed at popularizing the cultural heritage, developing the tourism potential of Russia and Turkey and strengthening relations between the two nations.

It is outlined that in the framework of the Year a number of events are planned, including concerts, exhibition, theatrical performances, events in the field of cinema. At the same time, they will pass not only in the capitals.
The most prominent events are the Russian Cinema Week, which will be held in Turkey in the second half of this year and the exhibition of masterpieces from the Tretyakov Gallery’s vaults in the Pera Museum in Istambul.
