20 May 2019

The CSTO is concerned about the NATO exercises that take place near the borders of the organization’s member countries. The Acting Secretary General of the Organization Valery Semerikov announced at the meeting of the Council of the CSTO Parliamentary Assembly.

“In the Eastern European direction, the growing number and scope of NATO exercises is of great concern. The systematic buildup of the alliance’s military activities and the deployment of its infrastructure near the borders of Belarus and Russia are also disturbing. Under the NATO flag, the American military presence in Europe is increasing”, he mentioned, in particular.

He also claimed that concern is the problem of returning non-strategic nuclear weapons on the territory of the nuclear powers "and activization of NATO in the Caucasus".

The initiative pressure of Tbilisi in the process of military development of the region by the North Atlantic alliance remains a serious destabilizing factor.

It is alleged that today a meeting of the Council of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Collective Security Treaty Organization member states is held in Bishkek.

Representatives of Russia, Armenia, Belarus, Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan and Kazakhstan are taking part in this event.
