The explosion at the pyramids in Egypt has undermined the resumption of charters with Russia.

20 May 2019

The explosion near the tourist bus in the area of the Great Egyptian Museum in Giza, which injured 17 tourists, may delay the resumption of charter flights between Russia and Egypt.

"Interfax" has informed about it with the reference to the informed sources.

“The tragedy in Cairo will force a serious rethinking of the requirements for tourist security before resuming the transportation of Russians to the resorts of this country by the air transport. The resumption of tourist traffic from Russia should be preceded by ensuring security not only within the airport zones, but also on the way to the place of rest and back”, the agency quotes the interlocutor.

It is mentioned that after the incident, the Russian side will have to explore possibilities for extending the requirements of tourist security to bus transportation within the country. This work can take several months.

"Accordingly the timing of the resumption of charter flights with Egypt may be postponed again", it is reported in the message.
