On the sidelines of the 74th session of the UN General Assembly in New York, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov met with Prime Minister of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan Imran Khan.
The parties discussed topical issues on the bilateral and international agenda, including the situation in Afghanistan.
The Russian Foreign Minister noted that in recent years, cooperation between Russia and Pakistan has intensified in those areas that were not involved in the past.
"Our cooperation in trade and economic spheres, in the sphere of investment projects is expanding. I think we are on the right track, " said, in particular, Sergey Lavrov.
A regular meeting of the Intergovernmental Commission on trade, economic, scientific and technical cooperation (IPC) between Russia and Pakistan will be held at the end of this year.
