The Foreign Ministers of Russia and Iran, Sergey Lavrov and Mohammad Javad Zarif, held telephone talks.
According to the website of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation, the Heads of Diplomatic Departments have discussed problems of bilateral cooperation and a schedule of upcoming contacts.
Besides, an exchange of views took place on some topical issues on the international and regional agenda, including the situation around the Joint Comprehensive Action Plan on the Iranian nuclear program and the task of promoting a Syrian settlement.
Special attention in this regard was paid to the preparations for the XIIth International meeting in Astana format, which will be held in Nur-Sultan on April 25th-26th.
