On 25 June, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Maldives, Abdulla Shahid, will arrive in Moscow on a working visit.

During the talks with Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov, the state and prospects of bilateral relations between two countries will be discussed, as well as topical issues of the regional and international agenda.
In addition, it is planned to sign an Agreement between the Government of the Russian Federation and the Government of the Republic of Maldives on the mutual cancellation of visa requirements for citizens of two states.
As noted on the website of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Russia and the Maldives are continuing an active political dialogue, interaction is being conducted in the UN, its specialized agencies and other multilateral structures, and interdepartmental and inter-parliamentary contacts are being carried out.
