Russia is against making hasty conclusions regarding the incident in the Strait of Hormuz and calls for calm to sort out the situation. About this in an interview with journalists, Deputy Foreign Minister of Russia Sergey Ryabkov said.

“The situation is so explosive that the likelihood of some miscalculation or misunderstanding of the causes and consequences of certain events is very alarming. Therefore, it would be wrong to say that this is a passing episode. This is a reflection of the overall extreme severity of the situation in the region. We need measures to normalize the situation around Iran, we need to calmly, without bias, deal with what happened, not make hasty conclusions that can only add fuel to the fire”, the diplomat said.

On June 13, there was an attack on two oil tankers in the Strait of Hormuz.

Iranian emergency services rescued 44 sailors aboard both tankers, including 11 Russian citizens.
