Russians in Lebanon are working on the possibility of holding the Immortal regiment campaign in a virtual format, Vadim Zaichikov, a representative of Rossotrudnichestvo in Lebanon, told RIA Novosti.
"Assessing the scale of events taking place in the world and the country, activists of the Russian diaspora in Lebanon began to work on new formats of events dedicated to the celebration of the 75th anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic war. The complex of more than 50 projects was to be concluded with the Immortal regiment March in Beirut on May 9. Wishing to preserve the historical memory of those tragic events, paying tribute to everyone who gave us the world, the Russian diaspora in Lebanon decided to move the unique opportunity to "walk with veterans" to the limitless world of the Internet", the Agency quoted Zaichikov as saying.
At the same time, the representative of Rossotrudnichestvo noted that the possibility of holding the event directly depends on the epidemiological situation in Lebanon and the requirements of local authorities.
There is a regime of epidemiological emergency in Lebanon.
The number of detected cases of coronavirus infection in the country exceeded 400, and one person died.
