The inauguration of President Rahmon took place in Tajikistan

The inauguration of newly elected president Emomali Rahmon took place on Friday in Tajikistan.


In the Palace of Nations, Rahmon was presented with presidential symbols.


Head of the Central commission on elections and referenda of Tajikistan Bakhtiyor Khudoerzoda handed over the presidential certificate to the head of state. Chairman of the Constitutional Court of the republic Abdulhafiz Ashurzoda handed over to Rahmon the symbol of presidential power - the Badge of the President of Tajikistan.


After the ceremony, Rahmon went to the government residence, where he took the oath of allegiance to the Constitution and the people of the country in front of the assembled members of parliament, government and public representatives of the republic. Having put his right hand on the Constitution of Tajikistan, he uttered the oath of allegiance to serve the state and the people. After taking the oath, the national anthem of the republic was performed.


Presidential elections were held in Tajikistan on October 11. Five candidates applied for the post of the president: current head of state Emomali Rahmon nominated by the Federation of independent trade unions, Youth union and People's democratic party of Tajikistan, Rustam Latifzoda from the Agrarian party, Abduhalim Gafforzoda from the Socialist party, Rustam Rahmatzoda from the Party of economic reforms and Muroj Abdulloev from the Communist party. According to the Central Election Commission, Emomali Rahmon won the presidential elections in Tajikistan, receiving 90.92% of the vote. He also won the previous elections of 1994, 1999, 2006 and 2013, actually, Rahmon has been leading the country since 1992, when he became the chairman of the Supreme Council of Tajikistan.
