Syrian President Bashar Assad hosted a delegation of Russian Officials - Special Representative of the President of the Russian Federation on a Syrian settlement, Alexander Lavrentiev, and Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation Sergey Vershinin, as well as Representatives of the Ministry of Defense.
According to the website of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation, during the conversation that took place, the issues were considered of ensuring a long-term political settlement in accordance with the decisions of the Syrian National Dialogue Congress and UN Security Council resolution 2254.
Special attention was paid to the task of the early formation and launching of the work of the Constitutional Committee, as well as the post-conflict arrangement of Syria and the normalization of relations of the SAR with Arab countries.
