The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation: there is no justification for the terrorist attacks in Sri Lanka

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation has published a report in connection with a series of terrorist attacks in Sri Lanka, number of deaths has increased to 290 people, and about 500 people have suffered.

 

 

“We are outraged by another inhuman attack of terrorists, which has not and cannot be justified. We express our sincere condolences to the relatives of the victims, we wish a speedy recovery to the wounded. The tragic events in Sri Lanka once again confirm the necessity to consolidate the efforts of the world community in the fight against international terrorism”, the Russian Foreign Ministry said, in particular.

 

 


According to preliminary information, there are no Russian citizens among the victims.

 

 

It is known that, the terrorists attacked hotels in the capital of the country Colombo and its surroundings, as well as churches in the cities of Colombo, Negombo and Batticaloa.

 

 

In addition, the police were able to detect and neutralize an improvised explosive device, which was laid near the Bandaranaike International Airport.

 

 

Meanwhile, none of the terrorist groups operating in the country has claimed responsibility for the attacks.
