By the end of 2019, the naval forces of Russia and Iran will hold joint exercises. It is reported by Mehr agency that they will reach, according to the statement of the Iranian Navy Commander Hossein Khanzadi, in the southern waters of the Islamic Republic.
"Based on the negotiations with the Russian Navy, Iranian forces will send a fleet to the southern regions of Iran this year," the agency claimed.
He did not mention the exact time and place of the exercise, however, according to journalists, maneuvers can take place in the Strait of Hormuz, which separates the Persian and Oman gulfs.
About 30% of oil from the region is transported through this strait.
