The President of Kazakhstan instructed to extend the quarantine restrictions

The President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev ordered to extend the quarantine restrictions that were imposed due to the coronavirus for another two weeks.


The Cabinet of Ministers of Kazakhstan introduced a two-week quarantine in the country on July 5 due to the complication of the epidemiological situation and the increase in the incidence of the coronavirus infection. Later, the restrictions were extended until August 2.

 

 

"In order to further consolidate the positive effect of the imposed restrictive measures in July and taking into account the possible complication of the epidemiological situation in Kazakhstan and neighboring states, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev instructed the State Commission to extend the quarantine measures for two weeks, followed by a gradual easing," the message on the website of the President of Kazakhstan, published following the meeting on the epidemiological situation in the country, reads.


The information notes that the number of infected people in Kazakhstan has stabilized at the level of 1.5-1.6 thousand people per day. "The workload of hospitals has fallen by 43%, including intensive care wards – by 27%. The number of people who recovered increased to 63%, and the number of ambulance calls decreased. Thus, the main indicators of the burden on the health system have been reduced, " the report says.


In Kazakhstan, over the past day, 1,544 cases of the coronavirus infection were detected, the total number of infections reached 86,192. The number of recovered patients exceeds 54.4 thousand. There are 793 cases of coronavirus deaths in the country.
