Vladimir Putin had a telephone conversation with President of France Emmanuel Macron at the French side’s initiative.
The presidents discussed the developments in the northeast of the Syrian Arab Republic.
Vladimir Putin informed about Russia’s efforts to stabilize the situation in the region, including the facilitation of contacts between interested parties and ensuring the interests of all ethnic and religious groups.
The two leaders stressed the importance of starting an inter-Syrian dialogue in the framework of the Constitutional Committee which will convene under the aegis of the UN in Geneva in late October.
