The presidents of Russia and Turkey held telephone talks

The president of Russia Vladimir Putin had a telephone conversation with President of the Republic of Turkey Recep Tayyip Erdogan. According to the press service of the Kremlin,  the parties discussed efforts to fight the terrorist threat including in the Idlib province and in the country’s northeast.


"The situation in Syria gained a special focus.  The leaders called for increasing coordinated efforts to fight the terrorist threat including in the Idlib province and in the country’s northeast. The necessity to fully honour Russian-Turkish agreements on interaction in these regions was stressed," the message reads.


In addition, the heads of states touched upon the issue of the Libyan settlement and agreed to continue contacts at different levels.
