10 March 2020

The Religious Board of Muslims of Russia has published a message in connection with the spread of a new type of coronavirus in the world.

In particular, believers are encouraged to observe a number of hygiene regulations.

"The Religious Board of Muslims of the Russian Federation urges believers to carefully study and constantly monitor all official information of the Russian authorities concerning the spread of the coronavirus, and strictly comply with all recommendations and restrictions that arise in connection with the spread of this epidemic.

Remember that, like other respiratory viruses, coronavirus is spread through droplets that are formed when an infected person coughs or sneezes. It can also spread when someone touches any contaminated surface, such as a door handle. People get infected when they touch their mouth, nose, or eyes with contaminated hands. In this regard, the most important thing you can do to protect yourself is to keep your hands and surfaces clean", the report says.

According to the latest data, more than 110 thousand cases of coronavirus infection have been registered in the world, more than 80.7 thousand of them are in China.

3,825 people died worldwide, and almost 62,000  cured.
