The Information and Press Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Russia made an official statement about the development of the situation in Sudan.
It is noted that the Russian ministry is closely monitoring the situation in the country. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation called on all Sudanese forces to show maximum responsibility and resolve all internal political conflicts in the country by peaceful democratic means on the basis of broad national dialogue.
The Foreign Ministry welcomed the statement by the head of the Sudanese Transitional Military Council, Abdel Fattah Abdelrahman Burhan, on the formation of a technocratic government to govern the country during the transition period and the general election after 9 months. The relevant steps, according to the Russian Foreign Ministry, create tnecessary conditions for successful stabilization of the situation in Sudan.
The settlement of internal problems in the country should be done exclusively by the Sudanese themselves, the Russian ministry believes.
“External pressure, ultimatums, and even more intervention, are unacceptable”, the Russian Foreign Ministry stressed its position.
