On June 4, the Special Representative of the Russian President for the Middle East and Africa, Deputy Foreign Minister of Russia Mikhail Bogdanov met with with Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and Compatriots Affairs of Syria Ayman Susan, who is on a working visit in Moscow.
As part of the conversation, the development of the situation in Syria and efforts to promote the Syrian settlement with maintenance independence, sovereignty, unity and territorial integrity of this Middle Eastern country were discussed. The sides expressed hope on the speedy restoration of the socio-economic infrastructure of Syria and the creation of conditions for the return of internally displaced persons and refugees to their places of permanent residence.
In addition, issues of further development of relations between Russia and Syria were raised.
