All crew members (about 40 people), rescued by the Iranian coast guard from tankers in the Gulf of Oman, were taken to the port city of Jask. Their health is satisfactory; nothing threatens the life of seafarers. This information was received from the Iranian side by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Russia.
“They are safe, the necessary documents are being processed. Russian Embassy in Tehran, in cooperation with the Iranian side, is taking the necessary steps to work out ways to return Russian citizens to their homeland”, - the Russian Foreign Ministry said.
Two tankers were attacked in the Gulf of Oman on the eve of June 13. 11 Russian citizens are among the rescued.
