The Heads of the Ministries of Defense of the member states of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization highly appreciate the role of Russia in combating terrorism in Syria. It is stated, among other things, in the final communique signed by the participants of the next meeting of the Council of the Heads of the Defense Departments of the SCO member states.
According to the document: "The Ministers of Defense have commended the role of the Russian Federation in the fight against the forces of international terrorism in Syria, the destruction of terrorist organizations operating in the country, the provision of humanitarian assistance to the Syrian people and the restoration of the infrastructure of Syria".
The communique also emphasizes that the SCO member states intend to "continue joint efforts to combat terrorism, extremism, separatism, illicit arms and drug trafficking".
It is alleged that the Representatives of Russia, India, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, China, Pakistan, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan took part in the meeting of the Council of the Heads of Defense Departments of the SCO member states.
