Statements by the US administration about the intention to kill Syrian President Bashar al-Assad indicate the level of political ethics, which is based on crimes in order to achieve their own goals, according to an official statement of the Syrian Foreign Ministry.
On Tuesday, US President Donald Trump admitted that he considered removing Syrian President Bashar al-Assad, but was dissuaded by the head of the US Defense Ministry, James Mattis.
"The statements of the US administration about the intention to kill President Bashar al-Assad clearly indicate the level of thinking and political ethics of the leaders of this administration. This only speaks to the principle of committing crimes to achieve one's own goals," the statement said.
The Syrian Foreign Ministry noted that the official recognition of President Donald Trump about such intentions confirms the criminal activities of the United States, which "resort to the same methods as terrorist organizations – murder, liquidation outside of any international rules and principles for the sake of their own interests in the region."
