The UN General Assembly postponed the session of the Disarmament Commission to 2021. As noted in the GA statement, this decision was made in connection with the coronavirus pandemic.

"The General Assembly... noting with concern the situation around the COVID-19 coronavirus, decides to postpone the main session of the Disarmament Commission to a  date in 2021, which will be determined by the General Assembly during the 75th session," the statement reads, in particular.

The situation with coronavirus has made significant adjustments to the work of the UN headquarters in New York. A number of events were canceled and postponed.

Several cases of coronavirus have already been detected at headquarters. Diplomats are encouraged to work remotely and hold meetings via video resources if possible.
