The UN has called for the parties of the conflict in Libya for a week-long humanitarian pause on the occasion of the coming of the Muslim holy month of Ramadan. The statement of the UN Support Mission in Libya, in particular, notes that the organization congratulates all Libyans on the holy month of Ramadan and calls for a humanitarian truce for a period of a week and the possibility of extension, “in accordance with the spirit of this month and the Convention on Human Rights, when all parties pledge to end all forms of hostilities”.

It is noted that during the armistice, it is necessary to allow the delivery of humanitarian aid to all those in need and to ensure the freedom of movement of civilians.

It is alleged that, since the beginning of the military operation, which Field Marshal Khalifa Haftar, Commander of the Libyan National Army, began to “liberate Tripoli from terrorists”, at least 400 people have already died, about two thousand were injured. More than 45 thousand people were forced to leave their homes.
