Washington is against Russia's participation in resolving the conflict in Libya. Acting Assistant Secretary of State for the Middle East Affairs David Satterfield reported this speaking at a briefing in Brussels.
«Russia’s intervention» in the Libyan conflict «doesn’t serve any useful purpose», Satterfield said.
«This is outside intervention, which we hope will end as soon as possible. This is opportunism, it is an attempt to take advantage of conflict zones, and this does not bring any benefit», quotes, in particular, Satterfield’s speech by the State Department.
It is known that in Libya, from April 4th, military clashes are still continuing between the Libyan National Army headed by Marshal Khalif Haftar and Forces which loyal to the Government of National Agreement.
