The United States is moving warships to the Persian Gulf

At least seven warships led by the aircraft carrier Abraham Lincoln were transferred by the USA to the Persian Gulf area against the backdrop of the worsening situation around Iran.

 

 


According to the USNI News US Naval Institute news portal, at the moment there are two destroyers of the Arleigh Burke class with guided missile weapons, the universal landing ship Kearsarge, on board which can be placed 20-30 aircraft and helicopters, as well as a carrier strike group led by the "Nimitz" class aircraft carrier Abraham Lincoln, which can carry up to 90 aircraft and helicopters, the missile cruiser Leyte Gulf, the Spanish frigate Mendez Nunez and the destroyer Bainbridge.

 

 


At the same time, in the past, US President Donald Trump claimed he hoped to avoid a war with Iran. Meanwhile, Iranian President Hassan Rouhani stated the similar approval, and did not intend to fight with the United States, but would continue to resist Washington.
