The US accused ISIS* of organizing two major terrorist attacks in Afghanistan

The US has concluded that the two attacks in Afghanistan this week, which killed dozens of people, were carried out by the terrorist organization "Islamic state"*, and not the radical movement "Taliban"*.

This, according to RIA Novosti, was stated by the US Special Representative for Afghanistan Zalmay Khalilzad.

"The US government has concluded that ISIS in Khorasan* carried out horrific attacks on a maternity hospital and funeral earlier this week in Afghanistan," dilpomat wrote on Twitter.

Earlier, after two terrorist attacks in Afghanistan, President Ashraf Ghani ordered all the country's security forces to switch to an "offensive" form of fighting the Taliban*.

The representative of the movement Zabihullah Mujahid, in turn, said that the military formations of the "Taliban"* are ready to retaliate against the security forces of Afghanistan.

ISIS*, as Khalilzad noted, has already demonstrated a pattern of actions, preferring monstrous attacks of this kind against civilians. The group, he said, also opposes the peace agreement between Kabul and the "Taliban"* and is looking for ways to encourage" internecine war, like in Iraq and Syria."

The diplomat called on the Afghan authorities and the "Taliban"* not to" fall into the trap of ISIS"*, but to unite in the fight against this organization and strive for peace.

On February 29, at a ceremony in Qatar, the US and the "Taliban"* signed the first peace agreement in more than 18 years of war, which provides for the withdrawal of foreign troops from Afghanistan in 14 months and the beginning of an inter-Afghan dialogue after the completion of the prisoner exchange deal.
