The US announced talks with Russia and Saudi Arabia on oil

01 April 2020

The United States, Russia and Saudi Arabia will discuss raising global oil prices to support this industry, the US leader Donald Trump told a press conference.

"They (Russia and Saudi Arabia. - ed.) plan to gather, we all plan to gather to assess what we can do. Because you do not want to lose the industry. These are thousands and thousands of jobs... These two countries are discussing this issue. I will join if necessary", he said, in particular.

Low oil prices, according to Trump, on the one hand, help American airlines, and on the other - damage the American oil industry.
Against the background of slowing demand in the market due to the outbreak of coronavirus, as well as the exhaustion of OPEC+ agreements, oil prices have fallen almost twice since the beginning of March.

On March 6, the Alliance countries could not agree neither on changing the parameters of the deal nor on its extension.
