This autumn, Russia will host the World Congress of Compatiots.
The issue of preparation for the event was discussed at the next meeting of the Government Commission on the Affairs of Compatriots abroad, which was chaired by the Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov.
It is noted that a separate topic of the Conference will be the role of compatriots in preserving the traditional values of the Russian society, the Russian language, culture and education.
Also during the discussion, the issues of the state program to assist the voluntary resettlement to the Russian Federation of compatriots living abroad were touched upon. It was decided to continue the state program in 2019-2025.
