Third batch of Sputnik V vaccine shipped to Tehran

The third batch of Russian coronavirus vaccine, Sputnik V, was sent by air from Moscow to Tehran on Thursday, Iranian Ambassador to Russia Kazem Jalali said.


"The third batch of Sputnik V vaccine was sent Thursday from Moscow to Iran," ISNA news agency quoted the ambassador as saying. - "A joint production of the Sputnik V vaccine will soon be launched in Tehran. Iran will not only be able to cover its own needs, but also provide the vaccine to neighboring countries."


The second batch of the Russian Sputnik V coronavirus vaccine was shipped to Tehran on February 12 and the first batch on February 4.


On February 9, free voluntary vaccination against coronavirus using Sputnik V began in Iran. The first step is to vaccinate workers in intensive care units. The next step will be to vaccinate other medical personnel and the elderly over the age of 65.
