The Turkish military command has blocked three settlements in the Syrian province of Raqqa for the return of local residents, Alexander Karpov, deputy head of the Russian Center for the Reconciliation of the Warring Parties in the Syrian Arab Republic, told reporters on Wednesday.

"The settlements of al Mu'allaq, Jebel and Seyda in the Ayn Issa district of the Raqqa province are blocked by the decision of the Turkish military command to return local residents who previously left their homes because of the fighting between the Turkish armed forces and Kurdish formations," Karpov said.

He stressed that the Russian Center for the Reconciliation of the Warring Parties calls on the command of the Turkish troops exercising control over the territories in northern Syria to ensure the possibility and safety of the voluntary and unhindered return of civilians to their homes.
