The authorities and citizens of Kazakhstan should resist any manifestations of radicalism, extremism and separatism, President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev said on Thursday during a public meeting in the Zhetysu region.

"While maintaining pluralism of opinions, we must firmly resist any manifestations of radicalism, extremism and separatism. Attempts to split our society will be suppressed to the fullest extent of the law," the press service quotes the head of state as saying.

According to the president, the law and order should be the priority in Kazakhstan. "Only on this basis, we can solve the problem of the well-being of our people. Independence, unity and stability are the main values that we all must preserve," the country's leader said.
