Tokayev expressed confidence in the success of Russia's presidency in the EEU structures in 2023

President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev at a meeting of the Supreme Eurasian Economic Council on Friday expressed confidence in the success of Russia's presidency of the Eurasian Economic Union (EEU) in 2023. 


"Next year, the honorable mission [of chairmanship of the EEU bodies] is now being passed to the Russian side. We have no doubts that the work of the Russian presidency will be successful," he said. 


The head of state also expressed confidence that Russia's efforts as the largest economy will give a new impetus to the development of the association. 


Kazakhstan held the presidency of the EEU in 2021, this year it was held by Kyrgyzstan.
