During a meeting with the prime ministers of Russia, Belarus, and Kyrgyzstan, President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev highlighted the robust and dynamic nature of Kazakhstan's relations with Russia, particularly in the realms of trade, investment, and industry.
"With regards to the Kazakhstan-Russia relationship, it continues to exhibit a strong and dynamic interaction, particularly in the realms of trade, investment, and industry," he remarked.
Tokayev highlighted that there are presently 40 major joint projects valued at $16.5 billion in progress with the Russian Federation. He also noted that Russian companies consistently rank among the top five major investors in the Republic of Kazakhstan.
President Tokayev also highlighted the successful collaboration with Belarus in agricultural machinery production and machine building. He noted that the total value of projects in this sector amounts to approximately $187 million.
Regarding bilateral relations with Kyrgyzstan, Tokayev emphasized the growth of mutual trade and the potential for constructing a trade and logistics complex on the border of the two countries. He stated, "Positive trends in mutual trade persist, with trade between our nations increasing by 13% in the first seven months compared to the corresponding period last year. The construction of an industrial trade and logistics complex holds great promise."
The heads of government from Russia, Belarus, and Kyrgyzstan arrived in Astana to participate in the Innoprom exhibition, which is being hosted by Kazakhstan for the first time. The exhibition will run from September 25 to 27. Anton Atrashkin, the program director of Innoprom, reported that 177 Russian companies, representing various sizes of businesses, will participate in the exposition in Astana. The event is expected to draw approximately 10,000 attendees from 20 countries.
