Tokayev instructed to improve the defense capability of Kazakhstan

President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev held a meeting with Minister of Defense Ruslan Zhaksylykov on Thursday, during which he instructed him to improve the country's defense capabilities, the press service of the head of state reported this.


"The president pointed to the need to ensure the comprehensive and systematic development of the armed forces and maintain their combat readiness at the required level, and also gave a number of instructions aimed at further improving the country's defense capabilities," the message reads.


In turn, Zhaksylykov told Tokayev about the implementation of the "Safe Country" national project and execution of the president's assignments on the improvement of the structure, composition of the Armed Forces and troops training, further implementation of digitalization, development of military infrastructure, improvement of prestige and attractiveness of military service.


In addition, the president was informed about the activities aimed at improving the efficiency of solving the problems of ensuring the military security of the state, including within the framework of the formation of the Special Operations Forces.


"The Supreme Commander-in-Chief was reported on the current situation regarding the staffing of personnel, the condition of weapons and military equipment, and the availability of material and technical supplies. The military department is taking measures for technical rearmament of the troops in cooperation with the domestic military-industrial complex within the framework of the implementation of the instruction of the head of state," the press service explained.
