US President Donald Trump called Washington's decision to send troops to the Middle East and intervene in conflicts in this region the greatest mistake in the country's history, the American leader told the Axios portal.
"The decision to send [troops] to the Middle East and get involved [in conflicts] in the Middle East was the greatest mistake in the history of our country. This is my point of view, " he said.
Earlier, Trump has repeatedly stated that the United States intended to stop the policy of "endless wars" and seek to establish partnerships with countries of the world instead of competition.
